Teal + Orange

Put em together and what do you get?? My new fave colour combo and the colour scheme for my wedding!

Here's just a lil bit of inspiration

How fantastic would it be to be able to have your own special teal and orange cocktails for the day...

I love these teal coloured bottles and the old skool clockes and fans to add that lil bit of rustic charm.

Stripes!!

I would LOVE to have teal peeptoe heels hiding under my dress!

Perhaps I could pick up this outfit to wear whilst I'm getting ready??

All images are care of my new addiction Pinterest!

A little holiday...

Happy Friday Everybody!

I'm a little excited! I have the day off woohooo! Marty and I are going away for the weekend to a friends wedding here

We cant wait! Its going to be a fantastic weekend catching up with friends.  The dress code is formal and I feel that my dress is probably more cocktail/semi formal but I'm just going to bling it up with big heels and a shiney bag :-)

I'll have lots of pics next week!  I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Cheers

An update on The Big Day

So a fair few more wedding decisions have been made, bookings made and deposits paid!  First up - The Dress.  It has been tried on, approved by mother and bridesmaids and ordered!

I took a day out with my lovely Mum a few month ago because a lot of the Bridal Shops in Newcastle were having sales so I figured it cant hurt to look...I wont find anything today and certainly would not be buying....

So the first shop I found it!  We went to Belles and Beaux in Hunter Street because it was the first one we could find and who should be perched up on a box in a stunning gown when we walked in but my gorgeous friend Bree, who is also doing the make-up of my bridesmaids.  Anyhoo...thats another story!

When the sales assistant approached me and asked if I had any ideas as to what i'd like and I said "I dont want anything strapless, not to much detail, not to much satin, not to heavy or poofey" she looked at me like I had two heads! When I looked around me I understood....90% of the dresses in the shop were exactly what I DIDNT want.

So I headed straight to the nearest bridesmaids rack and grabbed just about evey white dress on it and this is what I came up with.

I love it, its exactly what I want! Light, simple and elegant.  It needs to be taken in a little in the waist (hopefully it still will when it arrives!!) and needs about a foot taken off the bottom of it lol damn these short legs of mine!

I am thinking just some simple silver bling with a messy side bun and I'm done.  What do you all think? and of course some FABULOUS shoes!

Now I just have to wait for one of my bridesmaids to have her bub (she was due 2 days ago!!) and we'll be all set to check out dresses for the girls.

We have also booked our DJ.  I did a little internet research and came accross MobyDisc.  These guys seem to be all over the state and when I did a bit of a facebook poll (aka asked in a status update if anybody had heard of them) I got quite a lot of good feedback AND the best bit is that you can create a login on their website and scroll through the song list and pick what songs you want them to play - YAY!! Marty can have all of the 90's pub rock that he can handle lol.  I apologise to the wedding guests in advance but there will be Cold Chisel, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel...the list goes on!

So that is all of the updates so far....it must be almost time to start tasting cake yeah? and do a bit of flower research.  I have been told by my bridesmaid Leah that it is the job of the eldest bridesmaid to go cake tasting with the bride....I think the other girls may disagree with her there lol.

Cheers!

Oasis News

Hi Everybody!  Happy Hump Day to you all ;-)

So at the beginning of February my sister Trishy and I dragged our butts out of bed at 5:30 AM...yes that early! and zoomed down to Sydney to go the Oasis Homewares Autumn/Winter Product Launch.

It was a fantastic day out and definitly worth the early rise, even though I complained a lot at the time.

The products are just beautiful and it was great to meet so many other consultants and the girls that work in the head office down in Sydney.  It was very inspiring!

Mostly though it was good to see just how eco friendly the company really is.  The products are all made with eco friendly materials eg. Bamboo, Water Hyacinth and recycled glass. Most of the products are made in Vietnam and the lady who runs the show, Sharon Barclay aka Sha Sha! Goes over to Vietnam a few times throughout the year and checks in at all of the factories and farms ensuring that all employees are working under fair conditions and for a fair wage.

Both Bamboo and Water Hyacinth are a type of grass that dont need fertilisers, pesticides or herbacides to grow and they dont need to be replanted.  You just chop the top off to use and it keeps on growing!  Bamboo grows 3 times faster than any tree and it releases 30% more oxygen into the atmospher.

Its nice in this day and age when we are all trying to do our little bit to help the environment that we can decorate our home in an eco friendly way also :-)

I am still finding my way in the world of sales and I know that I have to be a little more confident at my parties, I think I need to be able to take control of the room more than I do.  Hopefully this will come with time.  I am now into my 3rd month and have managed to make a little bit of extra cash each month to add to the wedding fund....even if it is just a few extra cocktails on the honeymoon ;-)

If you have any questions about the products or if you live in the Hunter Valley/Newcastle area and would like to have a party OR even if you dont and you'd be keen to have a catalogue party - feel free to contact me :-)

Cheers!!

Photo Challenge Update!

Hi Everybody! I apologise for my absence recently.  Soooo much has been happening around here that its going to take a few posts to fully update you all about it all!

There has been lots going on with my Oasis Homewares business that you would of read about here.  I am finding sales a lot harder than I imagined.  You generally dont have to sell your services at a law firm so I'm really out of my comfort zone here but am getting used to it.

LOTS of developments in the wedding department!

So basically I'll have a fair few posts to upload in the next few days filling you all in. But for today the Family Volley Photo Challenge.  I have been keeping up with uploading my pics each week on flickr but havent been posting so here are the last few weeks:

Week 4: Your Daily Routine
The one thing I do EVERY morning without fail is have a coffee.  I only started drinking coffee when Marty and I went on a contiki tour of Europe in October 2010 and I really needed a caffeine hit to keep my energy up each morning after long days and BIG nights.

The thing is that I cant stand instant coffee! I am a total coffee snob and proud to be one! lol so Marty bought me a coffee machine and it is the love of my life (apart from him of course!).

Week 5: Guilty Pleasure
Some of you will already know that I have a huge small addiction to trashy TV.  So that is my guilty pleasure.  Why watch something educational and meaningful when I can be watching ridiculously rich socialites live totally unrealistic lives wearing fantastic clothes and living in fantastic homes...??

Week 6: Red

This is some of the Oasis Homewares from the Winter Product launch that I attended in early February.  The new catalogue is absolutely stunning, I'm really having to work hard not to be one of those people who has a house FULL of what they sell.  Although Marty has given me permission to buy up to decorate our house!!

Check out my facebook page if you'd like to see more pics from the launch! it was a really fun day and the products were set up so beautifully!

Week 7: Close Up

This beautiful eye belongs to my stunning neice.  Some of you might know her as "Dream Child No. 3" over at A dream house for Trish.  Ever since this one got her apprenticeship as a hair dresser I have been picking her up after work on my way home and its been fantastic spending more time with her.  We both talk WAY to quickly trying to get in our whole day in the 10 minutes it takes us to get home - I'm loving it!

This weeks Challenge is "Childhood Memory"...this one is going to take some thinking!

Cheers Everybody!!

Oasis Launch Party

I couple of days ago over here I mentioned the launch party for my Oasis Homewares business.

The party was held at my house in front of some of my closest friends.
I want to thank everybody for dropping by and supporting me.  You girls are just going to LOVE your new homewares.
Here are a few piccies of my set up taken by my lovely sister Trish

Photo Challenge

Its Week 3 of the Photo Challenge over at Family Volley and this week the theme is "Hands".  Now there is no real story behind my pictures today, they are just the hands that I love the most - my fiance and my pooches (and yes...you can hold dogs hands!)
